Equipment

The club possesses a wealth of equipment that members
are able to make use of:-
 
Club Boat:
 
 
 
The club's flagship is a Tornado 5.8 Mtr. RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat), powered by a 115 hp Yamaha four stroke engine and fully kitted out with all safety equipment;
  • Flares
  • VHF Radio
  • GPS chart plotter
  • Sonar (Echo sounder)
  • Oxygen kit
  • First Aid kit
  • Reserve fuel tank
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Anchor & shot-line
  • Radar reflector beacon
Fully loaded it can carry 8 divers with full kit and is capable of up to 25 knots. With full fuel tanks it has a range of approx. 30 miles.
The boat can be towed on its own trailer to the launch site by most family size cars.
To satisfy our insurance all coxswains must hold a minimum of an RYA level 2 powerboat certificate or equivalent – obtainable through the clubs training facility.
 
Diving Kit:
The club's diving equipment is mainly used for training purposes, but it can also be borrowed by qualified members who don’t possess their own kit:-
  • 14 x Cylinders - various sizes
  • 10 x Open Water Regulators C/W depth gauges
  • 8 x Pool Regulators
  • 10 x Open Water BC’s
  • 9 x Pool BC’s
  • 2 x Suunto Gekko decompression computers
  • 2 x Practice delayed surface marker buoys (DSMB’s) & reels
  • 2 x Submersible compasses
  • 20 x Snorkel kits
Due to the variety of sizes the club doesn’t keep any diving suits (other than a couple of old hand-me-downs) but they can be hired from most good dive shops.
All members are asked to buy their own mask, snorkel & fins.
